11/27/2023 0 Comments Time out market lisbon best steakWhen we went to reserve, the host was disappointed to hear we want to reserve at 7:00 pm, and tells us that we MUST finish by 8:30 because of limited space. The chefs, however, take a long time to cook, and the host is rude. I feel is one of those places the lives out of the fame of its long gone glory days.ĭisappointed to say the least. Mind me on this, because we have been eating and cooking cood all our lives so we know when people just don't care about arranging it properly, and this was definitely the case. The food was good, but we got several very big fish bones, that we felt for the price was not acceptable. They charge you for up class prices, but the service totally ruined the experience.Īpart from one older member of staff that was knowledgeable and caring, the rest of the staff felt unexperienced and totally not carrying about their job.įrom getting the wrong information about the food when ordering, to being left without wine just because they had our bottle in a side table and just stopped coming to our table, and also one of the staff members, one dark hair tall guy with glass, that was basically dragging is feet all night around the room, with a face that felt he was going to throw up. The macaron is good but not so good as the eclair. Besides all of that the éclairs are really good, you should try the passion fruit one, 5*’s for that. I believe the employee told someone in the table that the tea could only be served at takeaway cups, but to me was never said that the coffee or the water would come in that way or that the baths were closed. If there are construction works going on they should close, it’s not acceptable to not have bathroom for the customer or a lower service for the paid prices or expected service quality. The éclairs were also put in the table without any dishes below the food or metal fork to eat. In any other day I would give 5*’s, but I went to L’éclair in a sunny Sunday afternoon and besides almost all the tables outside being already stored really early (even when the store closed at 19h (by the schedule here)), inside the kitchen (or somewhere) there were some construction work going on affecting the water pipes (said by employee after me complaining), so they closed the bathrooms (a lady that was with us had to go to the restaurant in next store to go the bathroom) and they didn’t have glasses for the water, coffee, etc. The inside store is cozy and clean, and gives that a French look cafe style. The fruit market sold seasonal fresh fruit, pleas remember to checkout after your meal, we bought a variety of different items, all goodįor sure the best Eclair you can eat in Lisbon or maybe in Portugal, the price is high but the quality is spot on. Only thing to hear in mind is to make sure you chop the seats first as this place is extremely popular and running full house. Īnd I must say, all the food we ordered were so good, they still held the restaurant standard with reasonable price. If you are not a huge fan of queuing outside the restaurant itself or feel rejected when you failed to book the restaurant, please come here and get a bite of possibly everything. Timeout market is a must to visit when you are in Lisbon, it locates near the river banks in the central areas, there are two parts of the market, a vegetable and fruit market and a huge food court with a lot of popular restaurants in town setting up their own spots here. One of my favorite activities when exploring somewhere new is always to check out the local market and grocery shops, where you can get a bit sense of “insider”and experience how the locals are living their day to day.
